Call For Special Sessions

The IEEE Workshop on Spoken Language Technology (SLT) will be held on January 19-22, 2021 in Shenzhen, China. Submissions of Special Sessions and Challenges are encouraged for SLT 2021. All Special Sessions and Challenges related to spoken language technology are welcome (see topics below). We particularly welcome submissions that are related to the theme of SLT 2021, “Spoken language technologies: deep learning and beyond”.

Please note: There are no additional fees for the Special Sessions and Challenges, however all the presenters will have to register to SLT 2021.

Important Dates (AoE)

Each proposal should include the following information:

  • Title of the proposed special session or challenge
  • Names and affiliations of the organizers (including contact information and a brief biography for each organizer)
  • A summary describing the importance of the session's topic and goals, and the planned format of the session (panel, oral, posters, etc.)
  • A tentative list of researchers who could contribute papers to the session, or participate in the challenge
  • For challenges, planned data and dates (e.g., data available, submission deadline, results announcement)
  • Additional information about the resources (e.g., data, equipment, poster stands, etc.) required for organizing the special session

The submitted proposal will be reviewed for relevance and significance, by a committee assembled by Special Session chairs.

Papers for approved Special Sessions and Challenges have to be submitted and reviewed, according to the same schedule and procedure as regular papers. Special Session and Challenge organizers will be involved in the reviewer assignment and in the final decisions. The accepted papers will be incorporated into the conference proceedings.
